Q. Hi, I have a mare that is about to give birth any day. I have names for a boy but I need names for a filly. Any Ideas? Dam is a Light Gray Arab. Sire is a Dk Bay Frisian Mix. Sire is know to throw Bays so I think this baby could be a bay. Thanks for helping. Yes, I will be Registering the baby. Just not sure about the names. Dam is Echositica and Sire is Prevailer. I am having a hard time putting those names together.

A. Well if your are going to register her, the registered name has to be a combination of the Dam and Sire's names. I had a horse once who's Sire was named Dukes Lucky Boy and the Dam was Sunday Lady, so we registered the filly as Dukes Magic Lady, and called her Magic. If thats not the case, wait until she is born and notice her markings and personality and maybe find a name that goes with that. Good Luck!
